Marketing and Communications Assistant  

Salary: £17,821.44 (FTE £21,719.88)

Hours: 32 hours per week initially, to be worked Mon-Fri. The post holder may occasionally be asked to work evenings, weekends and out of work hours to assist with marketing activities.

Start date: 7 June 2021 (dependant on the successful applicant’s availability)

Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust invites applications for a Marketing and Communications Assistant who will work under the direction of the Marketing Officer, assisting with all aspects of marketing for the Theatre Royal.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Awareness of general marketing functions and its impact in a business.
  • Willingness to manage incoming / outgoing marketing materials and undertake daily distribution.
  • Confident across all social media platforms and in creating content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Able to display confidence when dealing with stakeholders to promote the business.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The skill and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of dealing with and building relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic with a positive and friendly attitude with a willingness to undertake less glamorous elements of the marketing mix.
  • Evidence of a flexible, proactive approach with a professional manner.
  • Demonstration of administrative experience including using Excel.
  • Educated to at least GCSE in English and Mathematics.
