Little Youth Theatre
We are delighted to share our new programme, Theatre Royal Youth.
TRY is for young people to take part, learn, develop and have fun at Newcastle Theatre Royal.
We strive to increase the number of opportunities for people of all ages to engage in theatre and the arts. We are particularly keen to support the development of young people, artists and makers, investing in the sustainability of the sector and our organisation.
We know that many of the young people we work with enjoy the social aspects of Youth theatre, meeting new people and having fun. We also know that some of the young people we work with will be the people who run and perform at Theatre Royal in the future.
With this in mind, we have developed a new programme of work that will not only provide a pathway into our professional actor training company, Project A, for those who wish to pursue a Theatre career, but also continue to provide the confidence and social development support for young people who don’t want to work in Theatre.
For children across school years 1 – 4 (aged 5-9) we have developed Little Youth Theatre. A weekly Saturday session designed to develop skills in movement, singing and performing whilst developing confidence and communication skills.
Each term we will invite parents to observe workshops informally, not only sharing the skills developed but also the sharing the pride from working hard and learning new things.
The cost for each term is £75.
