Meetings and Hires
A venue with a difference, we are conveniently located on Grey Street in the thriving heart of Newcastle. The theatre offers several spaces for meetings and entertaining. These can be combined to cater for your group size.
Parties and Events
The Theatre Royal has been entertaining the people of Newcastle and the North East since 1788. Excellent hospitality combined with world class theatre and dance means that the Theatre Royal offers a unique experience whatever your requirements.
Spaces
The Olivier Suite: Opened in 2007 and named to celebrate the centenary of Laurence Olivier’s birth, the Olivier Suite is the main Reception Room at the Theatre Royal. Complete with projection facilities, sound system and broadband access the bright and airy Olivier Suite is fully equipped for meetings and training.
The Michael Harrison Room: The Michael Harrison Room is theatrical in style reflecting the 1901 auditorium. Very popular for evening entertainment, it is also available for smaller daytime events or as a breakout area for a larger conference or seminar.
100 Grey Street: Our new coffee and wine bar, perfectly placed right outside the theatre is available for event hire (subject to performance/ operational schedules.)
Grand Circle and Upper Circle Foyers: The Foyers can be used individually or combined with other spaces to create a unique event. Available for both conferencing and entertaining during the day, the foyers are also available for evening entertaining depending on the performance schedule.
